Prerequisite: RBBM I, RBBM II and have read Defensive Living and The Gift of Fear

Suggested Electives: Art of Leash Handling, Punishment, Analyzing Dogs, Polite Play in Dogs, Pack Dynamics,Fearful/Feral Dog Workshop (on-line)

A minimum time span of 8 months between RBBM II and this course is required.

1 group Zoom call 4 months after class (1 – 2 hours)

This seven (7) day + course is designed to provide in-depth understanding of the neurobiology of canines, how to better understand why we are working with and what we are trying to achieve in the mind of dogs. It is critical to learn how humans affect the dog in how they think and behave, and what it means to the dog through our human communication methods. This is a critical element to comprehend to be able to understand where are the gaps and matches between the human and the dog. This is a heavy lecture/discussion course. The student should be prepared to take copious notes and engage in mental discussions. This course provides the “why” behind RBBM/RBT to a high level of detail.

During the middle section of this course, there will be dog and human handlers acting as “clients” in order to practice and apply the learned concepts of RBBM/RBT. We will learn from, interact with, and practice how we analyze, teach  and communicate with the clients. The students will utilize these client interactions  to better practice the concepts and methods of RBBM/RBT in real time. This helps the student to better understand the ultimate goal of Relationship Based Training (RBT) using realcanine/human clients.

The Zoom segment of class is designed to follow up with the student on how the practice of the new information is integrating into their day to day life with dogs and clients.

This course defines the “why” behind the “what’ and the “how” of RBBM/RBT. It gives you reason, skill and understanding that is not taught elsewhere. Real time applications and discussions of what, how and why are a critical part of this course, and your education.
